Rebecca is a former professional sign language interpreter who turned her focus to full-time caregiving when both of her parents were diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Over the course of seven years, she navigated the daily realities of in-home care while also maintaining her marriage and prioritizing her own well-being—a balance that shaped her deep understanding of the caregiver experience.
After her parents passed away, Rebecca co-founded and led a caregiver support group at her church in Southern California. Partnering with Alzheimer’s San Diego, she expanded support services not only within her church but also to the wider community. She helped organize educational events featuring dementia experts and advocated for the importance of genetic testing and participation in clinical trials to ensure accurate diagnoses and expand treatment options.
Rebecca is passionate about empowering care partners with knowledge, tools, and hope. She finds great reward in helping others feel less alone and better equipped to navigate their caregiving journeys.
Today, she enjoys time with her husband in Texas, where they delight in spoiling their three grandchildren whenever possible.
